Gantt Visual: the interactive schedule for projects in Microsoft 365
Gantt Visual is the schedule view in PlainPPM. It shows ideas and projects together on one timeline – with dates, information and decisions, right in the Projects module. Comparison with the baseline and highlighting of delays are built in. Gantt Visual runs 100% on Microsoft 365 standards, so you don’t need an additional planning tool.
What do you see in the Gantt schedule?
All projects sit on one shared timeline – not one project after another, but your portfolio in a single picture. Each bar carries its dates, along with the stored information and decisions. Ideas appear in the same view, so planned initiatives and those not yet decided on are visible side by side.
You get there without a second tool: the view sits in the Projects module, where you already work.
How do you switch between quarter, year and month?
You choose the level of detail. The timeline expands from a quarterly overview to the full year and down to a single month – across the entire portfolio period. For the portfolio meeting, the big picture is enough; to coordinate within a project, you zoom in to the month. Same view, same data.
How do you compare the plan with the baseline?
One click on Details overlays the baseline on the current plan. Plan and reality sit directly on top of each other instead of side by side in two views. When you need more precision, the tooltip on the bar shows the variance.
That’s the difference between “we’re running late” and a well-supported statement about how far an initiative has moved from what was originally approved.
How do you spot delays?
Delays are highlighted in the chart – you don’t have to look for them. The tooltip shows the delay in days. This makes it clear which initiatives need action and which are on track – even when dependencies between initiatives come into play.
How do you get Gantt Visual?
Gantt Visual is an extension from the PlainPPM Feature Kiosk. That’s where the extensions are ready for you to try: you test the view with sample data in the trial environment and adopt it if it’s a good fit. The core of PlainPPM stays unchanged.

Conclusion
A schedule proves its worth where plan and reality drift apart – not where everything goes to plan. That’s exactly why Gantt Visual overlays the baseline on the current plan and shows delays to the exact day, in the same module where you already work.
Try it out for yourself. Gantt Visual is ready for you in the PlainPPM Feature Kiosk: open the extension with sample data in the trial environment and click through the timeline, the baseline comparison and the delay display – without changing anything in your own environment. If it’s a good fit, we’ll build it into your PlainPPM environment; the core of PlainPPM stays unchanged.
